1- What is PVC edge banding?
Edge banding is the name of both a process and a narrow strip of material which is used to create stable and good finishing of edges. Edge banding strip material can be PVC, ABS, ACRYLIC, MELAMINE, VENEER, OR WOOD STRIP.
2- Is Edge banding required?
The visual benefits and finishing of edge banding far outweigh the time and material that goes into completing the task. Finally, adding edge banding to plywood projects has been shown to increase the strength of the boards.
3- Can you paint PVC edge banding?
Paintable PVC edgebanding in 7/8" x 10' (feet) rolls with no adhesive.You can cover an edge with this product and then make paint with any color (cannot hold stain). And it can be applied with most any adhesive and trimmed with a utility knife or similar.
4- How do you remove edge banding?
For glue spots you can also try isopropyl or rubbing alcohol. Rub a little around the edges of the glue spot you want to remove and let it work for a moment. The glue spot should peel right off. Denatured alcohol is a pretty strong solvent, but used correctly it shouldn't damage your material.
5- How to get a perfect finishing in low temperature?
a- Measure the temperature of the rubber coating wheel.
b-Check if there is any precipitation at the bottom of the glue tank (normal heating).
c- Check whether the heating tube is working normally (normal heating).
d- The temperature is increased by 10℃-20℃.\
e- Increase gluing volume.
f- Increase the pressure.
g- Improve the working speed of the edge banding machine.
h- Check whether the edge-sealing coating is qualified, and test the edge-sealing strips with different product colors or batches.
i- Mix or replace products with low softening point and viscosity.
